The Foundations

Exercise & Movement

We all know exercise & movement is important, it is one of the 4 doctor models we teach. These days most people are far to sedentary, we sit at office desks all day, park ourselves in front of the television for hours on end only to feel lethargic, unmotivated, depressed & our diet & lifestyle choices often reflect that.

Sleep & Recovery

I find most people I see undervalue sleep & recovery to an incredible degree. Most of us are more concerned about getting in that extra workout, fuelling that fast paced life with the “go, go, go” attitude trying to achieve & accomplish as much as possible within the confines of a single day.

Thoughts & Thinking

Our thoughts can be seen as the governor of all regulations in the body. Each thought sets off millions of tiny chemical reactions in the body every few seconds. To the degree that those thoughts are negative or positive, will directly influence those chemical reactions & therefor affect the physiology of our body.

Nutrition

The building blocks of life! We have all heard the term “we are what we eat”, but in addition to that, we are what we eat & what we eat, eats! Meaning we literally take on all the good, the bad & everything in between when it comes to the meat, fish, poultry, plants, fruits & vegetables we eat.

Hydration

Our bodies are roughly 75% water. Even slight signs of dehydration have long & lasting effects on things like:
Mood, Performance, Mental clarity, Memory, Fatigue, Anxiety, Recovery, Digestion/Elimination, Skin, Organ functions.

Breathing

The breath. On average the body can only last roughly 3 minutes without oxygen. It is obviously a necessity. Your body will alter & adapt your musculoskeletal system as it needs, to facilitate the requirements of breathing/getting enough oxygen etc..
